/10 · Caution

alt.bank raised as a neobank for the unbanked in 2021. The live company sells credit infrastructure. Do not open a salary account here. Compare Nubank or Agibank for that.

What it is

alt.bank (altbank.ai) is a São Paulo credit-infrastructure shop. Series A from Union Square Ventures in 2021. The consumer unbanked app is not the 2026 product. This desk keeps the name so stale roundups cannot pretend it is still a current account.

Best for: Brazilian companies that want to issue credit cards without becoming a bank.

What it does well

  • +Honest pivot
  • +USV-era team still in credit
  • +White-label is the product

What to watch

  • −Not a consumer neobank anymore
  • −Not FGC for you
  • −Directories that still list the 2021 pitch are stale
