Aion was a Belgian bank. UniCredit closed the purchase of Aion Bank and Vodeno on 7 March 2025. That is an acquisition, not a graveyard tomb. Confirm the name on the IBAN. Do not open it from India.

Aion Bank SA/NV grew out of Banca Monte Paschi Belgio, rebranded 2019, sold a subscription digital bank plus BaaS via Vodeno. UniCredit paid €376m for both. The live consumer site now sits with UniCredit Belgium. This desk keeps the Aion name because that is what people search.
