Our take
Bankly is a CBN microfinance bank. NDIC follows the MFB, with MFB limits. C-One Ventures bought it in April 2025. CBN revoked 46 other MFB licences on 1 July 2026 — Bankly was not on that NDIC list. Still treat it as a smaller object than Kuda or Wema/ALAT.
Lagos, 2018. Tomilola Majekodunmi’s firm. The 2025 sale put the licence inside a roll-up. That is not a revocation. It is also not a promotion to commercial-bank class. Score the CBN class, not the acquisition press release.
Bankly lists Microfinance Bank — Bankly Microfinance Bank Limited under Central Bank of Nigeria in Nigeria. On safeguarding we currently write: NDIC on eligible deposits at the licensed MFB — microfinance cover, not a commercial-bank story. Confirm live membership.. This desk would open it for: Nigerian users who want an MFB with NDIC and already understand that is not Kuda’s licence class.
What it does well: Named CBN MFB; Not on the Jul 2026 46-name drop list; NDIC path exists. What to watch: Microfinance, not commercial bank; C-One integration is a moving object; App ratings mixed. Desk score 6.2 / 10 (safety 6.4, fees 7.4, features 6.6, app 6.8). Last verified 2026-08-28. Headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria; founded 2018. None of this is advice — it is a file so you can read the entity before the card colour.
Best for: Nigerian users who want an MFB with NDIC and already understand that is not Kuda’s licence class.
