## How to read this desk

- A **bank** takes deposits under a named statutory scheme (FSCS, FDIC, FGDR, …).
- An **EMI / wallet** safeguards e-money. That is not a bank deposit.
- Treat a UK bank product and an e-money wallet as different legal objects.
- Closed brands stay on the desk. Directories that hide deaths lie. See `/graveyard`.
- Scores are editorial, 0–10, six dimensions with published weights. See `/methodology`.
- Never call this site a “register”. It is a desk.
